ROBERT BRUCE MANTELL (1854-1928) was a Scottish-born American actor famed for his Shakespearean roles, especially King Lear. He made his Broadway debut in Fedora, opposite Fanny Davenport, in 1883, but concentrated on Shakespeare in later years. At age 61, he made his first silent film in 1915. All his films have been lost except his last one, Under the Red Robe (1923). Toned. Multiple mailing folds.
