Taken at the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas in November 1974. The Roast was televised on NBC on February 7, 1975. Also pictured, but not signing: Dean Martin, Henry Fonda, Totie Fields, Ruth Buzzi and Rich Little. The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts evolved from his 1970s' variety series on NBC, The Dean Martin Show. Several of these shows were "roasts", set at a banquet table, in which the guest of honor was showered with insults by other celebrities. It was eventually spun off into a series in 1975 with Martin acting as "roast master", and continued until 1984. Gary Morton (1921-1999) and Lucille Ball (1911-1989) were married from 1961 until her death. Scratch on original negative has reproduced on print, touching the "Lo" in Love. Adequate contrast.
