Cardinal Luigi Sincero (1870-1936) was a Roman Catholic Cardinal, best known for his tenure as President of the Pontifical Commission for the Authentic Interpretation of the Code of Canon law (1934-1936), as well as Secretary of Sacred Congregation for the Oriental Churches (1927-1936). Born and raised in Italy, Sincero studied at the Seminary of Vercelli and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome before being ordained in 1892. He returned to the Seminary of Vercelli as a Faculty member and canon theologian from 1894 until 1908, as Auditor of the Roman Rota from 1908-1917, Secretary of the Sacred College of Cardinals from 1919-1923, during which he served as secretary of the conclave of 1922. Sincero was created and proclaimed cardinal in 1923 by Pope Pius XI, and in 1933 was named Cardinal-Bishop of Palestrina, a position he held until his death. Corners rounded. Slightly toned.
