Skylab 1, launched on May 14, 1973, was occupied by the Skylab 2, 3 and 4 crews. The Space Orbital Assembly was put into Earth orbit. Conrad, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1999, had walked on the Moon during the Apollo 12 mission, November 14-24, 1969.
