APOLLO 12 CREW The Apollo 12 crew signs a philatelic envelope honoring the second U.S. Moon Landing. Philatelic Envelope signed: "Charles Conrad, Jr.", "Alan L. Bean" and "Dick Gordon", 6½x 3½. Honoring the 2nd U.S. Moon Landing of Apollo 12, 10-cent U.S. "First Man on the Moon" stamp affixed, postmarked Houston, Texas, November 14, 1969. After CHARLES CONRAD and ALAN BEAN made the second lunar landing on November 18th, they located the unmanned Surveyor 3 probe, which had landed in a crater in April 1967. They had descended to the Moon's Ocean of Storms in the Intrepid lunar module, collecting 74.7 pounds of samples during their 31 hour and 31 minute stay. DICK GORDON orbited overhead in the Yankee Clipper command module. Conrad was killed July 8, 1999 in a motorcycle accident.
