Kaufman portrayed mechanic Latka Gravas, a befuddled immigrant, at the Sunshine Cab Company on the half-hour sitcom, Taxi, which aired on ABC (1978-1982) and NBC (1982-1983). Taxi won Emmys for Outstanding Comedy Series in its first three seasons. Kaufman died of cancer in May 1984 at the age of 36. His life is the subject of the motion picture Man on the Moon, which starred Jim Carrey as Kaufman. Minor surface creases (not evident head on) at right background.
