Sleek and sophisticated 1950s wiggle dress with pencil skirt + jacket
Came from the US
Made of what feels like a linen / rayon blend fabric, in cream
Both pieces embellished with prong-set rhinestones, pearls and seed beads
Bodice of dress and main part of jacket lined with cream acetate fabric

Dress features thin straps made of luminous cream satin
Jewelled embellishment across entire front
Darted bust with strips of boning in front and back
Slim-cut pencil skirt
Zips up side with a metal zipper
Thin thread beltloops but no belt
Kick pleat at center back

Jacket features a nipped-in waist
Flares out into a slight peplum waist
Edged all around with cream satin trim
Both sides of front bottom feature jewelled designs
Long vertical dartss in front and back
Small shoulder pads
Fastens up front with 4 round satin-covered buttons
3/4 length sleeves

Label in jacket reads "Rice's Crystal Room, Norfolk" (Virginia, I think)

A small size. Approximate measurements are:

Chest up to 36 inches (91 cm)
Waist up to 25 inches (63.5 cm)
Hips up to 36 inches (91 cm)

Jacket:
Chest up to 36 inches (91 cm)
Waist up to 27 inches (68 cm)
Length from top of shoulder to bottom 21 inches (53.5 cm)
Width across back from shoulder to shoulder 15.5 inches (39 cm)
Sleeve length from top of shoulder to edge 17.5 inches (44 cm)

CONDITION:

In very good vintage condition - some dirt along bottom of hem, in the fold. No belt, as previously mentioned. Did not notice bead loss although it is possible that one or two may be missing. Second button is still attached but could stand to be reinforced.
