All of our jewelry by Richard Krentz is handcrafted in the Comox Valley, in the same way it has been done for the last 20 years. The bracelet is carved with an engraver into 20 gage or 0.8 millimetre thick sterling silver. It weighs about 1/2 an ounce or a little over 14 grams. After engraving, the silver bracelet is hand sanded and polished until it has a smooth and shiny surface. The bracelet is close to 5 3/4 inches long without the gap and 1/2 an inch wide. It will fit a wrist that is between 5 1/2 inches up to 6 1/4 inches in circumference. In Coast Salish Culture the frog traditionally represents success coupled with humility. It represents the bounty of both the world and the Spirit but counsels the receiver of the Creator's gifts not to swell up with pride, for then all treasures disappear. It signifies modesty and virtue. Richard Krentz, whose name is kwátám-us in the Coast Salish language of the Sechelt Nation, is a man of two worlds: he is one of Canada's most renowned aboriginal artists; he is also a natural entrepreneur. Richard is well known for his beautiful gold and silver jewellery as well as for his wood carving skills. He has built over 20 longhouses and many totem poles. The largest of which is the tallest totem pole of the world which stands in Victoria, BC, Canada. Richard lives in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
