The blades are made from old band saw blades which are 15N20 Carbon Steel, which has a high nickel content and is known for its impact resistance. The patina on these blades is very slight, but is still existent. It's a good choice for a kitchen blade. And that's a lot of the point with the PB&J knives. They're users, pure and simple.
