Collection: Irere, Spring/Summer 2003. This fragile and feminine collection was inspired by the journey of a woman, ship-wrecked on an island where she evolves from pirate to conquistador and finally amazonian goddess.

A rare and important 'Irere' evening dress by Alexander Mcqueen. The dress consists of a boned bodice draped in nude silk chiffon. The raw edges and drapery give a feeling of vulnerable femininity but still evokes power and confidence with the hard boned bodice hidden underneath. Only a few of this design were made, one is being displayed in the 'Savage Beauty' exhibition which is the one McQueen ripped to shreds himself with his bare hands. This dress is the untouched version making it more wearable for glamorous events.

Condition: Pristine, the raw edges of silk are just the way the designer intended.
