Description
When King Leonidas I and his band of 300 Spartan warriors fought the Persians in a war that would ultimately determine the fate of Europe, the advancing Persian army ordered them to lay down their weapons. The Spartans' response: "Come and take them!" Or in Greek, "Molon Labe!" (Pronounced 'maw-loan 'law-bay) The Spartans' defiant cry later inspired the Texian settlers of the town of Gonzales. In the years leading up to the Texas revolution, the government of Mexico had given the town a cannon to defend itself against Indians and marauders. As the Mexicans sensed that a revolution was imminent, they decided to preemptively take back the cannon. When the troops arrived to take possession of the cannon, they were greeted with the slogan "Come and Take It" on a flag bearing the image of the cannon and Lone Star. Needless to say, the Mexicans didn't get their cannon back. This shirt offers the same warning to any government who may try to forcibly disarm us. The design on the shield pays tribute to the original Gonzales Flag. So whether you're a Spartan, a Texian, an American, or any other variety of free man, this Molon Labe t-shirt is the perfect way to assert your independence.
