One can mount another camera/ camcorder on the top of it as shown in photos. An occasion is mounting a video camera on a still picture camera. You can take still photos as usual while the video camera on the top is doing the filming for you for the same scene. There is a fixing collar on the bottom to secure itself on any hotshoe or accessory shoe. The adapter can also be used as an ordinary tripod ball head. There is a standard 1/4" threaded hole on the bottom. The cameras shown are not included.
