The original Tenuous design that Nicholas Yust created set itself apart with its unique grind pattern. Nicholas does a great job using the dimensions of the sculptures, with the grinds just sweeping off the edge as though it were cut out of a larger picture. This sculpture is a great example of that. The curved grinds scattered across the surface have a very organic, Earthy feel to them - like branches in a bush, or tall grass in a field, bowing to a light breeze. The varying widths of the blades add depth perception and variety, adding even more to the nature-scene appearance. 

The grinds on this wall sculpture are very different from many other sculptures by Nicholas Yust. He obviously uses a variety of grinding pads to make up the various sizes and textures of the branches. The calm, cool feel of this artwork fits nicely in any contemporary setting, especially those with an emphasis on nature.
