This plain lampshade received a new life when I covered it in burlap from a coffee bean bag. I covered the raw edges on the inside with fabric. As you can see in one of the pictures, I kept the detail of the whip-stitched ends of the coffee bean bag. For extra detail, I took apart leather covered belt buckles and using antique gold silk fabric, I wove the buckles onto the fabric, attaching it to the bottom of the shade. There is a 3' section of chain for hanging the light and 15' of electrical wire with an on off switch about 3' from the end. This is a plug in swag light, but could be converted into a hardwire light fixture.

The shade measures 16" in diameter and 10" tall.
