Description
AMELIA EARHART Her signature on a 3¼x1¼ paper in ink Signature: "Amelia Earhart", 3¼x1¼. Ink caption (unknown hand) in lower right. Earhart's "firsts" in women's aviation include first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and first pilot to fly from Hawaii to the U.S. She held several altitude and distance records as well. The unexplained disappearance of Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan (July 1, 1937) over the Pacific on their attempted round the world flight remains a topic of intense debate and speculation. Remnants of mounting adhesive on verso show through at signature. ½x¼-inch hole removes top of "h" in "Earhart", and there are two more pinhead sized holes near but not touching "E" in "Earhart." - Please contact us if you have any questions or require additional information.
