Amazing vintage 1960s black maxi dress with the most FABULOUS jeweled detail at the neckline formed from elaborate metallic gold braided trim, rows of gold tone droplets, faceted amethyst and clear plastic beads and large prong set rhinestones . The jewels frame the neckline and hang like a beautiful swag necklace. The dress has cutaway armholes, a fitted bodice and semi straight skirt with deep slit up the middle front. It closes with a metal zipper and has a fabric belt that closes in the back with covered snaps. Dress has a Saks Fifth Avenue label. It is fully lined and the construction and tailoring is high quality. This dress is a real "head turner".

Dress is in Very Good vintage condition but it does have a small (easily repairable) hole about 3" down at the back of the neck (see last photo). This hole could be mended and would likely not be that obvious due to the texture and color of the fabric. In any event, this is too much of a beauty not to repair, love and wear. No other flaws found. Dress has not been dry cleaned and, while it is not obviously soiled, I would recommend it be cleaned before being worn.
