What's the difference between a 65W and a 90W laptop charger?

A 90-watt adapter will actually charge the notebook more quickly and have a longer lifespan than a 65w adapter.

Technically speaking, the 90W adapter can replace your 65W adapter, provided the output voltages and the DC connectors are the same, but the 65W adapter can't replace your 90W adapter.

That is to say, higher-powered adapters can be used as replacements, but lower-powered adapters can't. Higher-powered adapters run at lower working temperatures, so avoid using lower-powered adapters as replacements in order to protect your computer.
