Mounts bolt directly to the frame-side pylons, in the same bolt holes as the stock mounts. Bolts to pylons should be tightened like most others on your Jeep frame. Nice and tight. Carefully inspect engine brackets for any excess wear, especially cracks. Also carefully inspect your engine block for sheared bolts and/or broken thread bosses. If engine brackets need replaced or engine block is questionable or you have stroked your engine, please consider upgrading to our S2883-1 Super Kit which includes our 1" MML and Super Engine Brackets (utilizing more engine block bolts than the original brackets) for 4.0L. Tighten through-bolts (bolt that goes through bracket arms and motor mount) exactly according to installation directions. Overtightening these bolts will result in excessive vibration transfer. If installation instructions are followed, there is not a need to remove the alternator nor air conditioner compressor. Designed for use with either Brown Dog or Jeep engine brackets for Wrangler 4.0L originally installed on Jeep TJ & LJ.
