Vladimir Shatalov (born in 1927) made history aboard Soyuz 4 (January 14-17, 1969), when he docked with Soyuz 5 (January 15-18, 1969) in the first link-up of two manned space vehicles. Shatalov was also aboard Soyuz 8, launched October 13, 1969) as part of the triple launch of a space lab construction team, and Soyuz 10 (launched April 22, 1971) in the first successful docking with a space station.
