How to Measure Your Desired Chain Thickness and Length

First, decide where you would like the necklace to sit on your neckline.

To choose a desired chain length or to get a thickness similar to your chain, gently extend your chain on a flat surface, and measure the length and width with a ruler (Ex: 3mm width x 16" length)

To estimate the thickness of a chain without a ruler, use a US American nickle. The thickness of a nickle is 2 mm thick, and 2 nickles stacked together is 4mm thick etc. This can be used to approximate the thickness of any chain.
