I installed an Esky 170° Viewing Angle Universal Car License Plate Frame Mount Rear View Camera, 8 IR LED in conjunction with Esky® Foldable 4.3 Inch Color LCD TFT Rearview Monitor Screen for Car Backup Camera on my Chevy Avalanche.Both products are sold by Hisgadget Inc and fulfilled by Amazon. Delivery was prompt 2 days with amazon prime.I consider myself a reasonably handy person. Installation was relatively easy. The directions provided along with the wiring diagrams on the amazon product page were clear, concise and self-explanatory. Installation of the license plate camera took 10 minutes; installation of the screen took about 10 minutes. The longest and most tedious part of the install was guiding the 20 ft video cable from the license plate to the front of the cab. This took almost an hour.I am very pleased with the results. (please see images). A neighbor saw me installing these units and came back to see the finished product. He said that he paid a car audio shop $500 for his install and he said my image was just as good as his. The two components from Hisgadget Inc cost a total of $78 and approximately 90 minutes of my time for similar results. I strongly recommend these products.

I bought his for my car back system. The product works as expected.The only complain I have is the fact that the screen came with many scratch marks. There was no protective label on it. Exterior was tidy and new. This very light weight. The instruction was not very helpful. But you can figure out by the colored wires. But most importantly it works. I powered it with my cigarette lighter and hooked up to a wireless video receiver I got from Amazon for about $10. What I like is that fact the screen goes black when there is no signal. It takes about a second or two to see the picture after putting the car to reverse. This could be due to the transmitter delay too. Not sure. Not a big deal for me. You can fold the screen down when not using it which I think is nice and will also protect the screen from sun burns while sitting on the dash board :) . Picture is in color and quality is good too. I can see some lines sometimes, probably from the wireless transmission too. Whole system has been functional for couple of weeks. I have not seen any problems so far. Lets see if it can survive the Chicago winter which will be ultimate test.

Something that I don't believe was mentioned in the product description is that you hit a button and the screen pops up - very cool. Once it's up it stays up until the kickstand in the back is folded back down and you push the spring loaded monitor screen back down and it snaps down. The image quality is really good. Be aware you need a switched 12V power source (switched meaning wire becomes hot when ignition is on ACC or ON, stereos and older car cigarette lighters usually work, but use a multimeter and check. Usually red or yellow wire. Black is ground). Other than that can't go wrong with this, just be aware if you are looking for a bigger monitor this is only about the size of a small touchscreen phone, at 4.3" screen measured diagonally. 5/5 stars. This was installed on a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500WT with ESKY wireless video transmitter/receiver and ESKY waterproof license plate mount rear view camera all work fantastic together! Not sure if the camera or monitor is what is adding the fixed (non steering-wheel adjustable) red-yellow-green guide lines but they are helpful at gauging distance. Awesome setup, all for less than $70 can't beat it for price and quality no other manufacturer comes close.

Updating after 10 months of use: This monitor continues to work well and I'm increasing my review from 3 to 4 stars. Picture continues to be clear and bright. I have this set up with both front and rear view cameras on our truck. The front camera is on at all times and the rear is displayed when the truck is put into reverse. I was initially worried about the life considering it was on much more than just a back up camera, but it has survived well. At this point, even if it died tomorrow it would have been worth the money.

UPDATE #2: Once again customer service is great...but the same issue just happened again to the second monitor. It no longer flips up again. It lasted a little longer this time...a couple of weeks.

UPDATE: Great customer service! The day after writing this review, the company contacted me and by the time I got home from vacation I had a new monitor. Thank you!

Monitor itself works great. Good picture quality for the price. The only problem is that within a day of installing it, the button to open the monitor up does not work anymore. So much for having a nice folding monitor to hide away. I now have to use 2 hands to open it up.

This is a great little monitor. Hookup is very easy. A downside is that the sticky tape (claimed to be 3M) does not hold at all. It fell off the same day I installed it. I made sure the surface was cleaned with some alcohol but that didn't help. I ended up using 2 zip ties around the feet to hold it in place. The other downside is that the included power cord has extremely thin wires. Stripping and hooking these up isn't so easy and it might not hold in the future. Time will tell. I also not see any way to flip the picture upside down in case you want to hang the monitor off a ceiling. For the rest I really like it. Great clear picture and big enough to see what you need to see. Can't beat it for the price.

This monitor has been mounted on my motorcycle's windscreen for nearly a year but is not exposed to rain (gets covered when drops are felt). I use it to monitor the dog I carry in a special carrier on my passenger seat. The set-up works perfectly most of the time, however, the unit is unstable when the motor idles but clarifies when the rpms increase. My only complaint is that the unit started out working flawlessly when I first purchased it but now it goes on and off randomly. I believe it is because of the vibration from the motorcycle and the problem is getting worse with time. I don't blame the monitor but I do believe it was intended to be sheltered in the cushy surrounding of a car/truck's dashboard and was not designed tough enough to be subjected to cruiser motorcycle vibrations. Not sure whether to buy a replacement or live with the annoying intermittence quirks. If the signal was stable I would be giving this a five thumbs up (stars) for the price. (update: it just died)
