I have thick custom orthotic inserts. One of them has added mass for a missing toe. These boots work perfectly with the inserts. Normal shoe size was ordered. Can't say enough about the product. They look great from top and side, while offering significant comfort on thick soles. They are not clunky - lightweight for sure. And they breathe well. Def not dorky looking Frankenstein diabetic foot wear. Added bonus... they don't have the company name plastered on the side - can't stand that stuff. Bottom line, these are the most approachable diabetic friendly shoes I've found. Get some!

Getting the size right was a big deal to me. I was ready to purchase them using my normal size (10.5), then I seen a "AI" note that indicated that other reviews were saying that the show runs a bit smaller and that I should bump it up a 1/2 size bigger, so I did, to 11. Nice addition to my wardrobe. Only thing I would change is the laces are a light color against the dark brown boot. I will probably change them out for a dark brown set of laces. Just my personal preference.

There is ZERO comfort to this shoe. ZERO.

The ONLY thing it has going for it is that it comes in xx-wide sizes. But the regular width is not wide or roomy or anything and its one full size too large.

The shoe is raw leather, like you would have in shoes from the 1800's. The only way to make it not painful is to put a very comfortable insert, and then thats only the footbed.

Shoes did not come in the original box, so there is nothing to indicate the actual size of the shoes. They seem much bigger than 11 1/2 wide. There are no inserts with the shoes, therefore I am led to believe they are not new, but returns. Waiting to hear back from the seller. If they can work with me, I'll update this review.

I only say somewhat large as that is how I ordered as I use Spenco inserts. The Spenco inserts add 1 to 2 sizes to the shoe. If you do not use ortho inserts, stay closer to your correct size. The inserts provided, while nice, offer no support, beyond what is already there. But what is already there is great, so the inserts just add a 1/2 to 3/4 size.

End of the day, these are wonderful and comfortable chucka shoes/boots. I would order again.
