The black area of the cover is matte and it feels so smooth! The "gold" at the top and bottom of the phone is actually copper. & it does cover all edges but if the phone falls on the screen side it'll hit the screen first and not the phone cover.

I bought 2 of these cases. 1 red/ gold 1 silver. The red/gold one has the gold painting color faded/wore down at the top facing the front of the phone. Otherwise, the fit of both cases is EXACT. The only other "issue" is that the case/s are slick in the hand. Not the super slick, but manageable kind of slick. They clearly won't survive a short drop. But, I did not get them for that. I got them for low level drops at pocket height for the phone to survive. I've already lost my first galaxy s8+ while in another case which was a softer case than these. I doubt the phone screens are going to survive any drops. Soooooo just be aware of that.

I saw a review in which another owner suggested that the product image had been photoshopped to represent the phone/case is much thinner than it really is. Let me just say this is the THINNEST case I've ever seen for a cellphone, My Galaxy 8+ slides into the main body of the case and then the copper/gold colored plastic ends snap into place. My wife saw my phone and asked why I don't have it in a case. I'm in the habit of always placing my phone face down on tables so that the screen is protected and I'm not overly distracted. The only thing is that the case is so thin that unlike the Spigen case I also use, when you set the phone face-down, the screen is resting directly on the table. Not a disadvantage if you have a screen protector. And speaking of screen protectors, my experience in the past has been that the curve of the Spigen case tends to lift the edges of the screen protector up. Not an issue with this one.

I would give this zero stars if I could. The end caps pop off constantly. It hasnt been a week and one is lost. I thought I was doing a good job of constantly searching for it and putting it back on it of course, I shouldn't have to.

Also, my elderly aunt accidently touched my phone and it fell off a table. The case fell apart and my phone screen is now cracked. The case looks nice but it's absolutely worthless and I have to buy a new phone.

contrary to many previous reviews, I have no problem with this case whatsoever. It looks and feels great. The gold 'clips' are a tight fit so, unless people aren't attaching them correctly, there is no reason why they should be falling off. That said, the gold clips are very fragile and I doubt would hold up to a relatively minor drop. For the price, i'd definitely recommend

After having the case and use I am not overly thrilled. Yes, it's a case.

Pro's:

* The buttons are covered.

* The holes line up perfect to the phone so there is no distortion in the Mic or speaker.

* The charge port and 3.5mm Jack holes are large enough to fit stock and aftermarket plugs to them with no modification or fidgeting.

* It looks nice.

The con's:

* The button covers are anchored on only one side so they are floppy and catch in a pocket.

* The plastic top and bottom offer little to no protection. This is due to the tabs not locking in the sides.

* The top and bottom plastics come off easy when pulling from a pocket or small drop( I tossed onto my bed while laying next to it approximately a three inch drop and the top popped off on the top left side).

The thinness of the case sits around the phone rather than above offering no screen protection.

Would I purchase again:

* Not without a redesign whether that be changing materials to a more reliable protection like aluminum or silicone composite/redesign for better protection and locking together with the current materials.

In the end, it's a case and covers the phone which is what is promised in the description. That is why I rate it two stars rather than one.

Fit well and looked nice--I got several compliments on it. However, with just three weeks of use the power button cover broke off. Then within a week, one of the gold-looking pieces fell off and was lost (note I did not take the case off after installation). To be clear, generally I carried the phone in my bag, it wasn't being pushed and pulled in a tight pocket. I really wish the case held up better, and I would return it for a replacement, except I obviously no longer have all of the pieces.
