These shoes do not last. Since they are a hot weather item I only wore them for the summer of 2014. Here it is the summer of 2015 and they are falling apart. The heel support for both shoes has split and they have now become no good. They make noise every time I wear them and I find that my knee's are being effected by this instability. I am most disappointed. I have purchased several Propet shoes and boots over the years. This is the first pair on Amazon and to find them no good in the second summer a big disappointment. I wish I could get my money back or some credit. I would NOT recommend that anyone buy these.

These are a nice looking and sporty style shoe. I tried them out at an Amusement Park and was not ideal for walking all day. I had planned ahead an had a spare set of shoes otherwise my wife would have been pushing in one of those child carts for the day. The only time I use them is if I am going to the water. I would also recommend ordering a half size smaller than normal they were sized alright but the back strap would not tighten well enough and the top side lacing needs to be beefed up. They are cheaper than they look.

If you are used to running shoes, these are a bit heavy and clunky. I thought I might have to replace the elastic cord with real shoe laces, but the cord is working better than expected. The fun advantage is putting these shoes on without having to untie the laces (or leaving the laces tied very lose). The heel on these shoes is VERY thin, flexible, and stretchy. You slide your foot in as if there was no heel, and then pull the heel up behind your foot. It's different, but in a good way, and works VERY WELL for getting in and out of the shoes without a bunch of hassle. The other surprise is that there is absolutely nothing behind the mesh panels. I'm used to at least a thin piece of fabric, but these shoes will show off whatever socks you're wearing. That's got to be a big advantage for summer wear, or down south, but not so much for winters up near Canada. I should also mention having a spot near the top of the big toe on the right shoe which rubs. Hopefully it was just on my pair of shoes, and isn't a common flaw.

I'd encourage every other shoe maker to design a version of the heels on these Propet sneakers. That really should be the next great innovation in casual shoes. Sliding your foot in from the back, and then pulling up the heel behind your foot, is SO much better than how other shoes work. I wish someone would have thought of it 50 years ago.

First, I have a foot condition as a result of diabetes that's called Charcot. It's where, essentially, I have a large bone mass that protrudes on the bottom of my foot. Think reverse arch. I am unable to walk around without a shoe and custom insole in, with out it being painful and I run the risk of causing damage to my foot.

I bought these in the hopes that they'd have good support for me while on vacation at the pool/beach/etc. I was not disappointed in them at all! They felt better than my regular tennis shoes did!!! I was AMAZED! They were wide, as described (not used to that!!) and the size was spot on!

It's a shame that the manufacturer has stopped making these shoes.

EDIT: After a month of wear, I'm going to subtract a star. The shoes have proven OK for just chillin' around the house, cool and airy, but a mile walk in them has given me blisters because of the poor fit. The strap to adjust the fit on the heel puts a lot of rubbing in one place on the outside of the heel; and there's excessive movement in the shoe. Dropping down a size would be too tight at the instep. There's also something painful under the big toe. Not sure, but it feels as though one of those little orange nubbinses in the sole concentrate force on a smaller-than-a-lentil sized spot. It's almost like walking with a tiny pebble under the foam insert.

EDIT#2. After only six weeks of light wear, the shoes have started to fall apart. Along the length of the sole, down the middle, there is an orange plastic insert. It has three vents in it. When the plastic insert reaches the heel, it turns into a shape something like a measuring spoon that is set into the heel, with the hollow of the spoon facing the ground. A piece has chipped off the tip of the "spoon" and the spoon has begun to pull out and away from the heel. The glue is giving out.
Down to 1-star.

When you measure your foot for a company that specializes in retailing wide shoes, you take the girth at the ball of the foot and again at the arch, and of course the length. I am wide at the ball of the foot and also have a high arch with girth there too.

This 8.5 EEEEE shoe is rather tight for my high instep but has more than ample room at the toe and the heel is a little loose.

It does not have the usual moveable tongue but the tongue section is sewn into the upper, connected to it by some elastic fabric that stretches only a little. The extra room in the toe can be tightened up with the laces, and there's a strap to make the heel tighter too.

The mesh uppers are airy and light. Good. Style-wise, the elastic laces remind me of an Angler Fish. When I tighten them to adjust for the too much room at the toe, that lace is very long and dangles up and out over the toe. The laces are thin and super stretchy, almost rubber-bands! I would have preferred them to be made of a less stretchy fabric.

Overall, a decent summer shoe that could be turned into a very good shoe with some minor changes: stretchier instep "tongue" but less stretchy fabric laces.

I had these almost three months and I liked them. I had issues keeping them tight on my feet but that is just because it does not have shoe laces. They broke only three months in and to me that is unacceptable so I can not recommend this show. Between the rubber soul and the inside of the shoe is a very hard plastic. That plastic broke on both shoes.
