From the manufacturer

Shoemakers since 1825

Our story began almost 200 years ago when Cyrus and James Clark made a slipper from sheepskin off-cuts. At the time it was ground-breaking; a combination of invention and craftsmanship that's remained at the heart of what we do. And whilst now, as always, every pair of our shoes begins with a last carved by hand from a single block of hornbeam, advanced construction techniques, technologies and contemporary materials help us deliver perfection tailor-made for the modern world.

Got it for an incredible price. I am a perfect euro size 38, ordered size 8. It came marked as euro size 39, and it fits perfectly with light weight socks on. The front part of the shaft is made of real suede leather, the back half is made of "suede like" fabric material. The fabric is more stretchy, makes fit better around my calf. So, no complain there. If you have full calf like me, this will fit. I normally wear Clarks sandals in 7, flat size 7.5. Do order half size up for light socks, heavy socks~go a full size up.

Beautiful boots, classic and can be dressed up or dressed down. Clarks are always comfortable and made well. The reason I'm giving these only 3 stars is because they don't fit large/muscle-y/athletic calves. I could zip them up but they grabbed at the top of my calf and made me look like I had rubber bands below my knee. I wish they would have fit because they were exactly what I was looking for. I did end up ordering a different pair of Clarks boots that do fit my wide calf but they aren't as stylish.

I wanted to love these boots. They are beautiful. Had they been as comfortable as advertised they would have been perfect.

The heel height is seemingly ideal for all day comfort and the overall construction of the boots would appear comfortable but the true test which comprised of less than 20 minutes of wearing indoors (because less than 20 minutes was all I could stand) revealed the boots to be anything but comfortable for me.

The width of the ankles seemed off, too large for the size of the shaft and the foot bed whereas the overall width of the boot seemed too narrow such that from the moment I tried them on my toes felt squeezed and my feet are a true medium width. (Perhaps they could stretch as they are leather but for the price I would expect a better fit up front.)

Given the strange variance in width from one part of the boot to the next, I can't really label the boots as running too large or too small. They are simply poorly constructed for an average pair of feet. Add to that the lack of cushion in the bed itself and all I can say is that these boots are sorely disappointing.

Maybe a different style of Clarks boots can deliver the comfort but alas, not these.

These boots are gorgeous! I wore them all day at a convention and they were incredibly comfortable. I wore them with a knee length skirt and received many compliments. The lining is somewhat padded to add extra warmth and comfort. I wore them again with jeans and was comfortable all day. I sometimes remove riding boots because they can get too warm in the office, but I didn't with these. I thought I would need to with the extra padding, but they were perfect. I would order another color if they were available. The price was great for a beautiful pair of boots.

I'm a short person so the boots did not fit well because of my height. Returning them simply because of that reason. Otherwise, they are a very nice and good quality boot.

I bought these, and I wear them, but I'm still looking for the perfect boot. They are comfortable, but a tad clunky on the bottom—I was looking for something with decent traction, and it seems that you can't have decent traction without a bit of extra bulk. Even in the traction department these are a compromise for me, since the sole only has a few indentations, rather than a good solid lug outsole. The heel is a good height while still being comfortable, but only because the entire shoe has a pseudo-platform feel to it. The leather also feels cheap, especially the suede (which I'm convinced is not real suede). But, they do look fairly decent in comparison to the myriad other boots I tried, so I have settled with them for the meantime. I'll keep looking though.
