Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Great tool for making R/C aircraft landing gear! Older model "kits" actually used spring steel for their gear, which could absorb the hard landings. They weren't scale, but they worked. The current batch of "arfs" now seem to use scale, or semi-scale aluminum landing gear which bend and fold under virtually ANY stress or rough landings! Many model product reviews bear this fact out, so since I own a few scale models with the weak gear, I purchased the Mighty Wire Bender to shape 5/32" (or appropriate size wire for smaller models with the Mini Wire Bender) music wire to the scale gear, then fasten it to the underside of the scale gear to keep the appearance, yet handle not-so-soft landings on our grass field with 5 - 6 lbs. planes. Works great and is easy to use.
Mine won't form a 90 degree bend in 3/16". About 85 degrees is the max it will do. A friend has the same model no., and it has no problem, so it is apparently some QC issue. Works great otherwise
I bought this product so that I could make a new set of landing gear for a Giant Scale airplane. I needed to make the gear from 1/4" music wire. Music wire is tricky to work with as it will break or loose its temper easily. This bender made short work of the project. I did have to put an extension on the handle to keep better control of the bends. Practice bending a couple of times first to see how the radius comes out and plan accordingly and it works great. This is a keeper. I will most likely get the smaller version for lighter work in the future.
Strong, well made. Very simple instructions; you'll have to search the Net for more details on exactly how to use it and what you can make. Plan to spend some time practicing before you do anything that needs to look good, with smooth curves, etc.
Before you start trying to make coils out of real music wire, practice with metal coat hangers - lots of them! A perfect coil requires proper positioning of the wire and the handle - the angle is critical to getting a proper start. Once started, you can wind as many coils into the wire as you wish. Bends are perfect and it's easy to follow complex patterns. I use it to make landing gear for r/c planes since music wire is basically spring steel and will absorb a lot of abuse compared to the cheap pot metal often used on imported r/c planes.
