The BD player has a simple design and it is small versus the traditional size of the BD or DVD players. I use the BD player with European BD and works perfect. The image quality is excellent with the HDMI connector and the audio is very good with a coaxial cable to amplifier (other BD players don’t have this connector). Besides, it is important (for me) the multiple options to video (e.g. run with 24 frames/sec) and audio settings (Dolby, etc.). The only reason why I no give five stars is the remote control. The keys more useful are small and are located in a non comfortable places; it is a minor problem. I recommend the Samsung BD player.

I am giving it a 4 1/2 as I have not used it long enough to pick up on everything, but so far it is as advertised. Finally decided to pick up a Blu-ray player and reviews on several sites gave this model high ratings. The model is easy to use, powers up quickly, the audio & video quality is great. I like the fact that it plays Blu-ray as well as DVDs discs which suits my needs and I would have no problem buying another one. The one thing that I so far dislike (which may be my lack of familiarity with all of the functionality): If I pause a movie, switch video source back to my television and then switch it back to the player the movie resumes without any audio and I have to reselect an audio format.
Got one of these refurbished for my parents to replace an old DVD player so they could finally ditch the analog connections going into the TV. Works great, upgrades via wired ethernet. I suppose lack of wifi could be considered a weak point, but it says right in the specs that that's the case, and ours is right next to a network switch anyway. Has a few other 'apps' for various online streaming services, which is nice, though I don't know if they'll use any of them. They already have an Amazon Fire TV stick for that sort of thing, which is a fair bit more versatile. IMO, a Blu-ray player should play Blu-ray discs. The whole move towards incorporating 'smart'-ness into TVs and disc players is kind of a waste as far as I'm concerned, since manufacturers suck at issuing updates, improving functionality or having a decent app library. Leave the smart-ness to phones and computers, I say. Anyway, if you just want a basic Blu-ray player and don't mind using a wired network for updates, I can't imagine how this one would disappoint. If you want a device that can check your e-mail, switch off your porch light and flush your toilet, well, get something else.Read full review

I was looking for another Blu ray player. this one fit the bill, and seems to have top ratings. I have a Sony, and an LG. both were bought refurbished. while that worked well for a while, they both, especially the Sony developed weak audio on some discs, blu ray and DVD. some of this was disc wear, but the same discs do play very well in my new Samsung blu ray player. also this Samsung is getting a much better picture, and this is considering, I run it through a switcher, for more than 1 source/player. I like that this player was easy to set up. I must refer to owners manual to set it up to switch my samsung TV to this player, when I fire up my Samsung blu ray player.
