Perfect for short trips. I added a strap to it to carry my dwarf hamster 🐹 around with me. The lid does tend to fall off easily when opening but it is not hard to put back on.

We use this all of the time around the house. My son will carry his hamsters around with him throughout the day. I wouldn't use it for really long trips or extended periods of time though. We have several little hammy and an assortment of water bottles. None of them would work with this, so you hammy will need to return to their home to hydrate.

This is only big enough for mice or a miniature hamster of some kind. Not suitable for rats of any age, unless they're close to newborn. Be careful traveling with it. It is cheaply made & I'd worry about it falling open during carrying. Please include a blanket or bedding if you're putting your pet in this & be careful with their tails!

I use this for my dwarf hamster and although it's a decent size for her, I might consider getting a bigger one just to make her more comfortable. When the lid is open all the way, it easily falls off it's hinges but it's not difficult to put back on. Plenty of breathing holes and no issues with the handle although I usually just hold the whole carrier so she's not swinging around and to avoid the lid from accidentally opening.

This hamster traveling cage is way to small. There is no way that you could fit a water bottle for traveling. I have a Syrian hamster and it is half the size of the cage and has no room to move around. Invest in a better traveling cage or just cut out a square and add mesh on a larger tupper ware container and have yourself with a much better traveling cage.
