Size up and hit the road

I ordered these boots half a size up from my usual size because I knew I would be walking in them all day and wanted to allow for room for my foot to swell a little. And boy did I walk! I can't sing the praises of these boots enough! I chose these because of their arch support and their width. I have a wide foot, but a narrow heel. I have also recently been having foot problems and needed a boot for a trip to Europe in which I knew I would be walking a lot on a variety of surfaces (pavement, cobblestone, airport floors). These truly were comfortable right out of the box and I walked in them for hours each day without any problems whatsoever. The arch support is fairly subtle - it's not like wearing gel inserts - but it was just enough for me. The low heel made walking comfortable and they are easy to get into and out of. I also love the look of the boot. The leg opening is large, but so are my calves, so it worked for me. These babies are a dream!

great arch support, quality lower than I expected from earthies

Great arch support. I wear size 8 in Clarks and Borns, and size 8 fit as the other pair of earthies that I have. I have wider than normal feet, and these fit great. I also love the look of these booties. No break in needed, very comfy. As I have noticed with other brands, the quality of leather has gone down from several years ago, and the leather has a more plastic feel to it. Because I love the way these shoes fit and look, the plasticky leather is not enough reason for me to return, however, I will not buy a second pair as I originally planned. Also, in the good old days when you love the shoes, but wore off the bottom of the heels, you could take them to the shoe repair guy to get a new heel pad, and give your shoes another life. Not anymore. These shoes don't have a replaceable heel pads, the soles are cheaply made from one plastic piece. Can't complain at this price I guess.

A bit narrow at the toe

I have some other Earthies sandals and do like them for the arch support. I bought these in my normal size, 8.5, but they were a bit snug across the toes. I just got shoe stretchers for this exact reason, but I opted to send these back without trying the stretcher. The reasons I sent them back - they were a bit darker and shinier than what I was looking for. The picture does depict them well.

I did have 1 problem with a pair of eateries and the company was more then outstanding in the customer service and resolution to the problem. ( i spoke to the same person 3 times and they even called me back , all with in the same day) I love the brand the quality and the comfort!
