Runs smaller then you think!

Runs smaller then you think!
My toddler just turned 2 and is on the smaller end at 22lbs and 31" well under the 28/32lbs limits (not sure which its supposed to be since the listing has both 🤔). I'm a fan of one size diapers over say a thirsities size 0-3. I saw that this runs small and figured ut should still work since my son is fairly small. Nope. I got it on, and the waist isn't really bad, but the height killed it. The prefolds stick right out the top 🤷‍♀️. I rated it a 3 star because the fit issue is a big issue, but it feels like a good quality and would probably work very very well for newborns and young (slim) infants. I'd say a year old would be pushing it though, maybe put to 6/9 months at best. I'll be putting in for a return and just buying a thirsties.

This was a little small. I bought it for a one year old but it looks more like its for a newborn only. I realize it has a lot of snaps for adjusting but it didn't really accommodate a toddler.

This could be a great diaper. BUT, the elastic on one of the legs has started to fail after only 3 months of use.... it's no longer stretchy. I had the same issue with the Crocodile version, (the back elastic is completely stretched out,) and was able to get my money back from Amazon, (5 stars for Amazon!!) but the green didn't start having problems until just after the return date for the product. Darn! I have washed these in warm water with Charlie's Soap, and have never once put them in the dryer, so I know that this isn't my fault. I also own red & teal covers from Bumkins, & so far those are doing just fine. It might be that the company had some bad elastic, but if so, it's very, very unfortunate, since that has caused me to leave a poor review.
I also own a Rumparooz & a Best Bottom cover, and those are holding up quite well, after 3 months of use.

I'm amending my review to four stars from a measly two. After I contacted Bumkins directly via their webpage regarding the elastic issues they replaced my two covers and added an extra cover AND a bib to my package! These are very trim diapers. If you have a skinny little rug rat, then they'll fit beautifully. However, if you've got a chunky monkey, then I'd suggest another kind of diaper - the Rumparooz, Best Bottom & Buttons covers all have more room in them than these.

Good quality, but this ended up being the last cover I reach for. The 10 snaps required to fasten it are a nightmare on my squirmy baby. The contour soaker liners are too long for the cover, even on the largest setting, so its all bunchy and very bulky! Also this seems really small, I have it on the largest setting for my 16 lb baby. I prefer the best bottom snap covers or the buttons snap covers for easier fastening and slimmer fit.

First of all, these are small. I have a 20 lb. 7 month old with admittedly thick thighs but the thighs are already too tight on the loosest setting. Also, regarding size, I have the waist on the loosest setting already. So, I see no way they will last us to 32 lbs. as the desciptions says. They are so small I am wondering if I got a mislabled newborn cover.
The other negative for me is the plentiful snaps around the waist. I actually ordered this product for that reason but now find it annoying to have to snap 5 times on the right and 5 time ob
the left. Plus, on the looser setting, some of the snaps are unused and press up against baby's skin.
Hands down my least favorite cover I have tried. I plan to try it on my next baby as a newborn but otherwise it has been deemed useless for now.

I have used cloth diapers with all of my children, but had never tried Bumkins brand before. I would give them 3 1/2 stars.
First the pros:
1) These are inexpensive covers, yet not cheaply made. The snaps and stitching are well done. I have not had any snaps break in 5 months of using them (with a toddler and a newborn).
2) The prints are fun!
3) They have double leg gussets, which help with with containing breastfed baby poo. I have not had any poop blowouts while using these (on a newborn and toddler). They also have flaps on the inside of the cover which help to hold in a tri-folded prefold and prevent wicking at the waist of the cover.
4) They are highly adjustable, which is good and bad (cons below) They work well for small newborns on the lowest rise setting and can go up to about a 24 lb toddler (tight at this weight). They have double rows of snaps, which ostensibly help to adjust both the waist and leg openings separately. They even have snaps on the opposite waist tab for smaller babies, if you need to pull the waist tabs over one another.
5) You can use these as newborn covers. Some adjustable covers cannot really be used with newborn babies. These work pretty well for a newborn on the lowest rise setting. They are a bit bulkier than newborn specific covers, but they work. I used them on the lowest rise setting until my baby was about 6 weeks old and 10 lbs, then I had to move up to the mid-rise setting. My baby is currently using them at the mid-rise setting, and is 3 months and just over 12 lbs.
6) They can be used for bigger babies and small toddlers. My toddler used these covers for a few months, and at the time was under 2 and about 23 lbs. They were on the largest rise setting, and were definitely tight. However, it is nice to have a diaper than can fit a newborn and a small toddler.

Cons
1) They have too many waist snaps! The number of snaps make them adjustable, but it's just too many. You have to snap 10 snaps to close the cover. You can get away with only snapping 8 of the snaps, but then the wings of the cover can droop. Because there are so many waist snaps, the diaper is bulkier than other covers, which is my main complaint. The snaps are also difficult to undo, which is probably why some reviewers have complained that the snaps are breaking. If you aren't careful, I can see how one could rip or break.
2) They don't fit as well as other brands of covers that I have. Although these do fit newborn and smaller babies, I still have other covers I prefer to use over the Bumkins brand. The leg openings seem to be small and narrow, so the waist seems to be pulled down by the leg openings, even if you adjust the rise setting. And, they are bulky....as I mentioned before.
3) These really can't be used from birth to potty training. I would be surprised if most average size 2 year olds can fit in them.

A few other points:
I use these covers with Green Mountain Diaper prefolds trifolded inside them. They did not work as well over fitted diapers and were even bulkier. Overall, I think this is a good value cover, if you want a cover you can use from newborn to about 18 months (or around 22-24 lbs). I also think they are better for skinnier babies, not chunkier ones, due to the leg openings being narrow.

Just got this today and I am in love with it already! I have been cloth diapering my son since he was about 2 months old and now that we have a little girl on the way we wanted to start from birth. This diaper snaps down so small that I believe it will fit our newborn. I prefer this cover over the imagine babies because this one has a front and back flap/pocket to hold a prefold when trifolded. Imagine babies do not have any flaps/pockets at all.
Love the print the most, and it has elastic stretchy stuff for every opening! In my experience having the elastic bands for all openings will help contain blow outs.

Ordered this cover to go over prefolds during the day on our 23 pound 18 month old daughter. It works well to contain any leaks and holds up over a prefold all day. I love the double lining near the legs, it is definitely superior to our other covers. I have it 4 stars only because it seems to fit small on our thin daughter - the sizing of the waist seems to be fine, however the thighs seem to fit tight, even on our thin daughter.

Overall, I like this cover and would recommend it for prefold users.

This cover I would recommend for larger babies. I
It has a lot of snaps so it will fit for an extended amount of time! The color was nice, washed well, and worked perfectly!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy Not True One Size
Reviewed in Canada on June 23, 2017
I like these much better than the Thirsties covers we have that are also one size, because theirs no velcro that digs into my son's tummy. But! These are not one size. My son is a lean 8kg at 7 months and we are on the last button setting. Mind you we use prefolds which are bulkier than just fitted inserts. If these came in true one size I'd love them more.
