Functionally awesome, cosmetically doesn't hold up, but who cares about looks right?

Functionally awesome, cosmetically doesn't hold up, but who cares about looks right?
I've been wearing these for months every day.Pros:- Comfortable to walk in all day without me personally needing inserts.- Doesn't smell as badly as other shoes probably due to the ability to pull the tongue (top part of the shoe) out easily allowing more air flow. And I wear these every day as a mentioned earlier. Other shoes of mine smell way worse.- Has held up really well in all environments (ice, snow, slush, walking, hiking) in the most important areas (see cons for exceptions, mostly cosmetic)Cons:- Shoe lace ripped in half when lacing up after a couple months and it looked like it was caused from the number of times it was laced up- Paint near the sole that appears to be garnet in color wears off over time (see pics)- Rubber at the front of the boot over the toe separates from the shoes (happened within a month of every day use)- Can be slippery on asphaltI haven't run into the issue other people are where the riveted eyelets pop out, but I make sure I pull them tight prior to fastening the upper eyelets to reduce strain.

I was looking for snow/winter boots that I could wear to work and not look totally out of place. These fit the bill perfectly. They are warm, waterproof and provide good traction without looking like I am ready for the Iditarod.

The color is nice and all of the materials blend together well. I like that there is not too much color to them (the green is only on the laces and on the bottom of the boot). These are made for winter and provide great arch and ankle support yet they look nice enough that I can get by wearing them with khaki's and a polo. I don't think they would work with a suit but they work wuith business casual.

My feet stay warm and dry in them. I feel sturdy walking around in mud, snow and sturdy-ish on ice (as sturdy as one can be without metal studs on their boots). Comofrt wise, they work for a most of the day. I spend most of the day on my feet standing at a desk or moving around. I do have insoles in them for added comfort but they work without them as well. They come up high enough to make them worthwhile as boots but not too high as to make walking awkward. Other boots I have tried come up so far that you can't really move your ankle. These provide a perfect middle ground.

Overall I recommend these boots. if you wanted to dress them up a bit you could swap out the laces and that would help. I see these as a wonderful business casual boot that performs wel in the snow. I tried 5 different boots out from major companies and this was my favorite!

I bought these for my husband as a Christmas gift, and they are now his favorite shoes! He roasts coffee for a living, which is a very labor intensive, on your feet all day, lifting heavy coffee bags all day kind of job. He's always worn Doc Martin's as work shoes because they are heavy duty but not too heavy, but they just are not the look he is going for any more... This shoes were the perfect replacement. They are lightweight, but provide great support and protection in a busy warehouse. He wears them all day long and they don't hurt his feet at all. The traction on these are also amazing and he has yet to have any leaks even while shoveling snow for an hour at a time. His feet stay warm but don't get to sweaty. The traction is so good, however, it makes me want to knock a star off for the issue I'm about to describe, but I'm not going to because my husband could solve this issue with a little more thoughtfulness I think... If there is any snow on the ground at all, even just a dusting, these things track it all over the house! Drives me nuts because we don't normally wear shoes in the house so I'm always discovering this with wet socks! I'd love if he'd just take them off at the door, instead of walking through the house into the bedroom closet to take them off, but alas he is stuck in the rut of his ways. He swears he stomps on the rug on his way in, but it's not enough. So these shoes drive me crazy because of that issue, but they are by far his favorite shoes. So 4 stars from me because of that, but 5 stars from him, so we'll go with 5!

Loved this boot as a winter "snow sneaker", nice styling, not clunky, warm and great traction. In theory a great winter boot but one of the riveted eyelets popped out after about two weeks of very light use(walking, not hiking), was not even aggressively tightening laces and popped right out. Never in my life of wearing hiking boots have I ever seen this happen before. Amazon allowed me to return it no questions asked and I chose to replace with another pair figuring it was a fluke. New pair arrived in two days, five days later the new pair did the same thing!! I'll be returning these and going to another brand. Merrell is blowing it with their QC as they get bigger and bigger.

After purchasing these boots for last year, I have now owned them for 2 winters. Firstly, these boots are very comfortable and I love wearing them. Secondly, these boots are stylish and I get lots of compliments and people don't believe that they are Merrell's. For the first winter I owned these, they were very dry and warm. I put them through a Wisconsin winter and they held up just fine. This winter has been different. Due to the recent cold front of sub zero temperatures, I truly learned what a winter boots should be. These boots do not hold up well when the temperature drops past 0 degrees. The chill will go right through them. Furthermore, after two winters the boots are no longer waterproof. While walking on sidewalks that are covered in snow, the sole of the boot becomes wet and my feet actually get wet anytime I walk on snow or ice.

If you are looking at buying these boots, I would look at how long you intend to own the boot. I would not recommend them for climates that are consistently below 10 degrees. They keep your feet warm at anything above that. Secondly, these boots are not meant to walk in snow. Stay on sidewalks and don't plunge in snow because they are not 100% waterproof. For walking to and from the car, they are great, but these are not meant to be hiking boots and should not be used in that manner.

Scarpe molto comode, ben imbottite, impermeabili e calde.

my feet are size 11 but the 11.5 fit perfectly well. Very good looking boot and the green highlights (lace, sole) just pop and make it even more pleasing, almost a fashion shoe. built very well and definitely feels high quality, especially the leather. they are super warm and very comfortable, probably the most comfortable shoe ive worn. This is my first Merrel boot so i cant speak for durability but i will update as needed.
