Top reviews from the United States

I ordered my normal size (9) and the fit is as expected. Reading other reviews, I agree the zipper is a little hard but I had no problem after pulling both sides of the boot to align in order to zip up easier. The boots are very comfortable and warm, and the lining is soft. My calves are not skinny so it is a little tight but has already stretched a bit just from walking around the house. These are definitely not as warm as true winter/snow boots like the Adirondack Uggs but they're way warmer than traditional leather riding boots like Frye since they're actually lined and the footbed is the warm insert.

They're really nice boots, great quality, loved the dark brown leather and comfy ugg insoles. I wish they worked for me, but the calf is the smallest one I've experienced. Normally I don't wear extended calf or anything like that either. Oh well, such is online shopping :) Avoid if you have athletic calves, but they'd be perfect for anyone else!

This is a review for the women's Ugg Seldon Boot, size 9 B or medium width, in the stout (brown) color. I am 5'6" and @ 125 lbs with calves 13.5". The boots leave a comfortable width at the top for skinny jeans or leggings, and are not near as wide as I feared from the pictures. If your calves are 14.5" or larger, I expect they might be a bit too snug if trying to tuck jeans in. The toe box is plenty roomy - I tried them on with thinnish socks but not dress sock thin - and I do not have narrow feet in the forefoot. However, I do have narrow heels and have a terrible time finding boots because my heel slips and causes great pain instantly in most brands. The only boot brands I have found that work for me are Ugg and Earth.

This boot is made of a quality, heavy leather, that is lined for some warmth but is not the ugg fleece lining so it is suitable to wear in fall and early spring without getting too hot. I don't find the leather 'stiff' as some have said, but then perhaps they are comparing to the traditional Ugg sheepskin/suede in which case almost anything is stiff in comparison :) The leather appears to be heavily oiled or conditioned and the interior of the box was stained from the boots, so I would not wear with light colored clothing until they have 'dried out' a bit just to be sure there is no transfer to clothing. Like I said, the interior is fully lined so no worries there, but if you brush one leg against another or cross your legs I could see some oil transferring from the exterior if not careful.

Regarding the zipper so often mentioned in reviews, I had trouble when putting the paper inserts back in and putting them back in the box for storage, but no trouble zipping up when on my leg. I soon found that pressure on the zipper (from the inside pushing out) is what causes the problem. So, if you have wider/thicker ankles or calves and the boots fit snug I think the zipper will be a bit of a hassle, but if they fit a bit loose on you like they do me, the zipper is smooth and no problem. Also, the zipper does not particularly bother me in the ankle, but I can see how if you had thicker ankles it could be a problem area as the boot does seem to 'break' there as you walk. I can feel it, but just barely, but if the boots were tighter on my ankles I think it wouldn't work as the pressure point would increase.

All in all, not my favorite Uggs, but I still like them - a nice, plain, classic style that seem well made, at a fair price, that I will keep. I would have liked a taller shaft, but that is not the intended style of this boot. I find this shaft an acceptable height - better than the 12" ones that seem to cut off your calf (visually) right at the thickest part and just look awkward.

Edit: I tried these on in a size one half smaller (8.5 vs the 9 that I bought) in a DSW store over the weekend just to see if I could go down a half size. While the length was ok, the toe box felt narrower. Oddly enough, it was more comfortable where it 'breaks' in back in the smaller size. However, the zipper was really really tough on that pair, particularly around the heel area. Not sure if it was due to the boot being a tiny bit snugger (not tight by any means) or if some of the zippers have defects or need lubrication. Seems like it is hit or miss a bit as to if you get a decent zipper.
