New Formula Review
I'm reviewing the copper colored tube 'new formula' on it. Please don't let others deter you from buying and trying. I'm Caucasian with spiral curly hair that turned to a loose curly wave after 2 pregnancies. I've tried at least 4-5 other mainstream brands and nothing but the old and this new formula holds my hair to a wavy curl and doesn't let humidity in. The new formula is actually stronger to me. The new scent is a pleasant light floral and not powdery like the old formula which is nice to not smell like a just plopped a baby on my head. It holds for a couple days allowing my hair to get curlier and not frizzier from steam in shower. The picture posted is of day 1 hair.

Useless Jelly Water in an Expensive Bottle ***UPDATED WITH ALTERNATIVE GEL OPTION***

As previously posted by other reviewers, this goldish/pink bottle is indicative of the formula change. This is nothing more than "jelly water" with an overpowering fragrance that does nothing to hold or smooth your curls. The old formula is marked by a gold bottle with a navy blue cap. I cannot find it ANYWHERE and I am so angry. I have NEVER found a gel that compared to the old Nexxus Exxtra Hold formula and I don't know what I'm going to do to replace it now that the idiots at corporate have made this change. ***TRY THIS INSTEAD***Moco de Gorila Gorilla Snot Gel - the name sounds disgusting, but this is a good alternative. A little heavier than the ORIGINAL formula of the Nexxus Exxtra Hold Gel. However, when cut with a bit of water, the consistency is very nice. I found the gel right here on Amazon and I am satisfied with it.
