This is an amazing smart charger. Works great at charging and maintaining battery's and is a must have in the garage. I love the 90 sec jump start feature. I don't have a jump box so that has come in handy. Note that it will not work on batteries that are discharged below a certain level though.

These chargers are very well built and pretty compact. I've already purchased a couple for work and decided to get one for myself at home because I liked it soo much.

This charger WILL NOT charge a dead battery, even if it will take a charge. It has some kind of "safety" circuitry that keeps it from charging batteries below ~3-5V and will tell you "replace battery."

I understand wanting safety and that dead lead acid batteries can be an issue from a charging standpoint, but I've brought PLENTY of batteries back from "dead" just fine simply by charging them.

In short, this is a GREAT charger for a top off but is USELESS for charging a truly dead battery.

This charger is lightweight,very easy to use.I like this charger not only for the reason it charged my lawn mower battery.But it can also check your alternator on your car to see if that or the battery is dead.Just plug it into a outlet connect to your battery and it will take care of the rest.

I didn't own one of these, but have experienced what they do. I have a Fountain 38' Fever boat with twin HP500 (500 horsepower) engines. It has two rather large type 27 batteries, and since they were getting on in age, I used both at the same time to crank each engine. The other day they just wouldn't start the engines, so I had to use a large battery pack to get one started. Unfortunately, I had to move the boat and shut it down before we went out. When I tried to restart both engines after warmup, there was no way. I retrieved the battery pack from the marina to put on one battery, then put my own battery pack on the other battery....still no success. I was about to go get my 30 ft. jumper cables so that I could get to my 3 cruiser batteries when my slip neighbor said he had a little B&D unit. After seeing the size of it, I thought no way is this little thing going to start a high performance 502 cubic inch big block. However, after plugging it in and giving it the minute or so to build up it's charge in "Start" mode, it cranked right up. I was able to get both engines started and on my way. Obviously, I have now replaced the batteries, but I also have just ordered my own B&D Battery Charger Starter, and I would say that it's a lot in a little package. I have several trickle chargers, also two of the Schumacher battery chargers, but this one is much simpler to operate. With it's higher amperage charge (25 amps), it may be a little much for small lawnmower and motorcycle batteries, but will certainly do the job on automotive and large marine batteries.

Great tool. This thing charges all of my boat and camper batteries and can find out if an alternator is not properly charging. Jump cables also jump off any vehicle/boat when plugged into power source. I cannot imagine what I did before I had this thing in my toolbox.

Does not charge properly from the day I got it. If it does detect the battery, still doesn’t charge the battery fully. It will say a battery is defective 50% of the time when the battery is fine when tested

So far appears to meet my main needs;
1. Rapidly recharge small Solar battery plant at remote cottage using small AC generator.
2. Recharge starting batteries for truck & tractor in remote location.
3. Rapid start still to be evaluated, 75 Amps possibly not enough to start diesel tractor directly
-And yes I do get a charge out of it!
