Product Description
Pangea Audio's Premier USB may have an entry-level price, but the performance is anything but. It sounds like a million bucks. Premier is an audiophile USB cable that offers a significant upgrade from stock USB cables. If you love streaming music, you'll love the benefits of switching to Pangea Premier USB. Premier USB's features include precision-wound 23-gauge signal conductors using oxygen-free copper plated with 1.25% pure silver. It also boasts a separately shielded 20 awg tinned copper power conductor, an advanced form of PE polyethylene insulation, and a tough woven nylon braided jacket. We occasionally get questions about USB cables from customers who are getting into digital audio streaming. They wonder why it would be worth investing in an audiophile-grade USB cable when they've been told that all USB cables are created equal as far as digital signals are concerned - that a $5 cable conveys the "zeros and ones" of a digital stream just as well as a more expensive cable. We invite you to try Pangea Audio's Premier USB cable for yourself. You'll discover it to be a huge upgrade from standard USB cables and far superior to any other USB cable in its price range and beyond. If you don't hear an improvement in your system with Pangea Premier USB, please return it for a full refund. I went through various cheapo usb cables to connect my phone to my new SMSL Sh-9/SU-9 stack. I've been listening to music for the past several months on the Hifiman Ananda, which are the best sounding headphones I've ever listened to, by far. Granted I've never gotten to hear any high-tier HPs before. These have been my biggest investment in headphones and I'm not disappointed! I use UAPP on my android device to pass the digital signal to my stack unchanged. I typically listen to Qobuz, but I've also compared services, listening to Amazon HD and doing free 3 month trials of Tidal and Deezer. Qobuz is still my favorite. And I figured a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, so I started looking for a better data cable.
If you're not looking to spend much on a cable, but want something very reliable that doesn't make your music lose its sparkle and sound...Blah? I suggest the Monolith audio cable. Which runs about $15 bucks. Ive had other cables develop loose connections due to cheap termination, stop working all together , or cause distortion in the audio signal, but not with the Monolith. Its really well-built and sounds good, especially for the money. Id say save yourself some money and don't buy one of those typical $5-$10 cables. Just get the Monolith and enjoy.
But we're not here to focus on that cable! We're here to talk about the Pangea Audio cable! Im REALLY impressed with this thing! I can tell an audible difference to music that I've been listening to on the regular. I even had my wife help me do a blind test, using all the same equipment, but just swapping the connection cables and playing the same songs back-to-back. I could tell which time the Pangea was connected every time! It really seems to add some more detail to my listening experience. Enough for me to pick up on the better sounding setup. Im not good with all these audiophile terms but I can definitely tell you I observed an all-around better listening experience. Picking up on micro details that weren't noticeable before. The music simply sounds more alive and present.
I feel that this cable is the best middle-ground. The Goldilocks Cable! Its juuuust right. I can't really afford to spend several hundred $ on cables like some can. But I felt my new setup deserved a better cable and the Pangea does not disappoint!
I consider it a bonus that they are an America-based company that makes their cables here. So if that's something that's important to you, then you definitely might want to consider doing business with Pangea. Im very satisfied with their products and customers service thus far. I hope you will be too!

I use the USB cable to transfer raw digital music data from a very noisy (EMI) host PC to a high-end DAC, using USB 3.0 at fast data rates, utilizing new bidirectional recieve and transmit lines (instant doubling of your data rate). This data needs to be clean. With a good, thick, high-conductivity center conductor and well-deployed shielding, clean 600 MB/s can be achieved. You can instantly see that the material on both the standard and doghouse USB connectors employ silver in the contact material, which has the highest conductivity of any organic metal.
It has a look and feel of a good quality shielded USB cable for high-end work. Functionally, using a fast digital DPO, noise from my PC is attenuated by 11 dB compared to a standard USB cable assembly.
I am very happy with that.
For $30, it's a good deal, considering the fact that you could spend $800.00 on a 1m USB cable with solid silver conductors. I am picky, but not insane.
Some people expect this to improve treble, bass or midrange. I don't have that expectation. This a digital cable, and cannot turn bits into sound waves anyway.
The only improvement I can think of is better insulation may reduce noise.
I think the cable is worth every penny because it is thicker and built with higher quality material than a generic USB cable.

the price I paid here in Australia and the cable is poor value for money because of this. I have thrown the cable in
the drawer and now using my original cable which has a more open sound. I admit this is my own preference for sound and many people might prefer the Pangea cable and it certainly seems well made.
