This is what I was looking for, a way to connect my intex pump to use it to vacuum the pool. It allows a vacuum hose to connect to the intake on the pump inside the pool. There are a couple of issues that you have to overcome or live with. The first is that the vacuum hose doesn't fit the intake. They are the same size or at least close enough that they don't connect, and this is more overcome than live with. A low tech solution is to use duct tape, but a bit of a pain to do every time you want to vacuum the pool. I'm sure there are some adapters that taper out from the center that will connect both together. But I, like a lot of people I would guess, was replacing the inadequate pump that came with a fairly large pool, and was able to use the white translucent clip-on hose as my connector. One end slides into the skimmer. And I cut the hose at it's widest diameter and then the vacuum hose will slide into that. Connection accomplished.
The next area to address is the small intake and the grid that keeps anything larger than sand out. either need to get the big stuff out first with a net and let the dust resettle. Or consider widening the hole so it's can handle a bit bigger piece and let the leave basket do the catching.
