Beautiful Boots

I barely write seller reviews for products and have never written a product review. But I had to write one for these boots because they are BEAUTIFUL. The pictures on the page do no not do them justice. They are perfectly shined and classy looking, but not too classy as to not be able to wear them casually. I love the wingtip style of them. I do not understand how these only cost me $29.80, because they look like they would cost at least $100.

A lot of people complain about the smell of them, and yes, they do have a syntheitc material smell to them, but I don't think it's too bad. It's nothing I haven't smelled on similar shoes/boots before. I'm sure that after some time of wear or airing out they will be fine.

Now when it comes to fit, they definitely do run large--and I have a wide foot. I normally wear a size 11 and initially ordered a half size down based on some review recommendations, but I ended up having to go the full size down to a 10, and they still have a little room in them, but fit well enough.

I HIGHLY recommend these boots.

Fashionable, Noticeable, Comfortable!

So some have argued of a "gasoline" smell - it's absolutely accurate for the first three days. To remedy, you HAVE to wear these out and about. For me, the scent was gone within a few days.

On to the review.

So sizing. I wear a size 13, I was advised to wear a size smaller in this shoe. ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE. Order one size smaller than you're used to.

The design is unique, I live in an area where Doc Martins are prominent. I, being a bit of a metrosexual, wanted to be different. These do the trick, I get compliments everywhere I go. Even a TSA agent admire them when I went through the airport!

The laces are good, good material construction - the zipper is surprisingly good.

Complaints?

Well, only one, and this is EXTREMELY subjective. I personally DON'T like the faux black "blemish" on the toe. It detracts from the near aesthetic perfection of this shoe. I'll try some white shoe polish.

A decent boot for the price.

I usually wear a size 12, depending on the brand. I wear size 11 Converse All-Stars and based on other reviews, I bought a size 11 and they fit just fine. The construction is ok, better than I had expected, but the brown is just paint over black material as you'll see after a few days of wearing them as it wears off from the tread. There is a bit of a synthetic materials smell to them but not like some people have commented. The smell didn't hit me until I opened the box and pulled them out, I left them on my floor for a couple days, they didn't stink up the house or even the room, and within 2 days there seemed to be no smell unless I put them to my nose. I wore these about 4 or 5 days out of the week for about 2 or 3 months, then when the warmer weather came along, I stopped wearing them. They have been fine, but don't have much cushion to them, if any. I purchased at $38 and I can't really complain, but I would have been happier at a lower price. They look great and I get lots of compliments on them, but they do squeak bad and it is annoying. Also, there's no grip on the bottoms, so if you're on a hard surface which may be wet or waxed, be very careful. I would buy these again but probably not for more than about $30.

No joke these things smell like they were dipped in gasoline. It's actually really embarrassing. It did slightly wear off after wearing them in the pouring rain, but only slightly.

Are the looks worth the horrible smell? Up to you. I'll be keeping them since the price was good and I'll try to maybe dip them in something pleasant smelling, wish me luck.

I just received them and they fit great and look classy! I have a bit of a wide foot. I usually buy a wide width, but didn't see that available when placing my order. When I read the reviews, many of people stated to purchase a full size larger. Since I have a problem with the width many times, I decided to stick with my usual size (10) with hopes that the larger "cut" would make up for the medium width. It did! I will wear them to the office next week and hopefully they will be comfortable and last a long while. I'm not able to answer the other review question about comfort and support since I've only tried them on and not spent much time wearing them. Beautiful boots!

I bought a pair of these in 2017 that fit me great, and I've been wearing every day up until this week then the zipper broke on one. So I ordered this new pair and the sizing is totally off. I ordered the same size and these ones are way tighter. The zippers were also extremely stiff and did hard to operate. I have to send these back and now I've got to find a new brand to wear. I highly disagree with the product description that says order a size down.

In short, these boots used to be well made and well sized, but these new pairs are a no-go. Be warned.
