Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Ok first the pros: - it's a nice enough, sturdy piece when fully assembled. - The LED's are cool (if the glass is perfectly clean). - It arrived way sooner than I thought it would. - Great design. - It's minimal, but about as big as you'd expect.
Cons: - The color "Sonoma oak" in this case looks more like plywood. I'm serious...look up plywood and you'll have a better idea of the color you're getting. - The way they achieve the "high gloss" finish is by basically laminating each side. It's not an actual, total finish. It'll literally scratch off like a sticker. Unfortunately mine came with a few scratches already. - The instructions are almost worthless. I literally had an extra piece that was not at all mentioned. And I had another piece that wasn't like the piece given. I had to backtrack a few times, take things off just to make it right. None of the pieces are labeled, so you'll have to rely on the placement of the holes to identify them. Not impossible, but geez. It took me about 3 hours.
The Verdict: - It's simply not worth $400. I wouldn't buy it again for that price. If it was $300, maybe. If it was $250, now you're talking. While I do love the design, there are other places with very similar pieces at a way better price point. I did shop around but there just wasn't anything quite like it, and that's why I got it. 3 stars.
After a multi-hour marathon it is finally up, with the television on top. Although it is an attractive piece, I am not recommending it as the assembly instructions were very poor: tiny barely legible type, and worst of all, there were no corresponding sticky labels on the pieces that were numbered on the sheet (e.g., is this piece number 5 or number 6?) Drill holes didn't match on the white cover for the storage so we couldn't install it, one MDF piece was six inches longer than the longest board the tv sits on. Were we supposed to saw it? Last but not least one leftover piece of board appears to be an extra; there was absolutely no place to put it. This should have cost about $135.
