It works great on T mobile's Z1S . It is a pain in the butt to have to open the usb door to charge it, but i understand why it has to be there. The next problem is there are only two cases available right now and they are very over priced cases. the Body Glove case it total junk, i would advised to stay away from it . the only good thing is that the magnetic port is open. The best case is the Tech21, it is a crazy $35 plus tax but it is great , the problem is the Magnetic port is covered up...Totally stupid and for the life of me i can not figure out why in the world you would do that with a option to charge the phone that is so much more convenient then plunging in the usb. What i did was cut out where the charge port was using a soldering iron and dermal tool . It took a while because i didn't want to mess it up , so 3 hours later all i have to do now is just place the charging end on the the phone and bingo its charging. It charges the phone fairly fast so there are no complaints there. I think it is the best $13 investment you could ever spend on this phone....I know that i went in to great detail about the cases and stuff but i don't want you to get this and find out that you, one have to take your case off every night to use it, or have a junk case that when you drop it , the thing is going to go two different ways and also the rubber coating on the body glove wears off really fast......buy this and you'll be happy.

The cable does the job on a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. As mentioned, the magnet could be stronger, but it should work fine in many situations. I am new to this kind of connector so I don't have a good feel for it. It took a few tries to attach and seat well. The weakness is in the "bendy" axis. If you laid your phone flat on the edge of a table, attaching the connector, then if you moved the connector up and down it would break free pretty easily. As it happens that can cause some grief, but it isn't a deal breaker. The stiffness or coil memory of the cable when new exacerbates the issue.

I bought two and if I needed a third, would by another of these. Happy to not have to remove a cover flap to charge any more. Still need to have some time in a car with it to see how well it works.

I'm not sure how but using this cable damaged my Xperia Z2 and blew out a port on my Anker charging station. I suspect it was because I connected the cable backwards to the phone, but as an owner of apple laptops I never even considered that would be a concern as those magnetic connectors work both ways. Never read anything by Sony anywhere indicating there was a right or wrong way to connect this type of cable.

After being damaged my Xperia Z2 won't charge at all using the magnetic port using any magnetic charging accessory, it just flashes on and off. The port on my Anker charging station is dead now but Anker being a great company swapped it out.

This last bit is more of a comment on Sony's design of the magnetic charging port, it's pretty horrible. If the phone isn't placed carefully on the dock or the cable isn't placed perfectly on the phone it doesn't work. Also the magnets are week and the shape of the connector leads to it getting unplugged at the slightest movement.

Sony: please dunp this terrible magnetic charging port and adopt the QI wireless charging standard! Everyone loves it and it just plain works reliably and much more convenient than any cable could be.

it fits my Z1s (t-mobile C6916) as described. unfortunately the cable does not carry enough charge (amperage) comparing to the original cable from Sony. That results in message popping up saying the phone (plugged in) is still losing charge when I have it in the car acting as my GPS.

Works well but magnet isn't strong enough to stay attached to the phone unless the phone is perfectly flat and you don't touch it.

The official Sony cable, which costs way more, is junk and I had to constantly jiggle it to get it to connect. The Nikay works every time with no effort. I even opened up the official Z Ultra "dock" and replaced the cable in it with this one. Note, I am using the aluminum bumper case for the Z Ultra, I had to cut just a little bit of the plastic off on the cable to get it to work (I had to do the same on the Sony cable, but it still never worked right).
I just bought a second one of these to make my own car dock

These cables look a little bit low quality when you first see them but they work well.
They charge faster than the micro USB and fit my Z1 Compact perfect.

The magnet isn't terribly strong but good enough for most charging situations I've come across including in my car.

Recommended.
