The Apis Mt. Emey style 9215 boots are specially designed with extended width on each side. They are extra depth with added width at the toe box. The uppers are made of soft leather. Extra Depth shoes provide (5/16") extra depth for mild to to moderate swelling, fleshly foot, accommodates Ankle and Foot Braces (AFO), KAFO and substantial foot thickness. Includes: Premiere Two Layers of removable inserts for flexible fitting - Top layer 6mm thick Diabetic insert with 3mm thick EVA Foam filler. Use the foam fillers under the top layer to adjust the volume inside the shoe.

These shoes are much uglier than they appear in the photo. They are lightweight, however. I initiated a return and forgot to send them back, so I am stuck with them! If you have a small foot they would be OK, but the larger size looks huge!
I wear AFO's and need a supportive boot with extra depth. These boots are exactly what I was looking for. The zipper on the side allows for easy put on. I find these shoes/boots to give added stability for the ankle also. I am very pleased with the fit and comfort of this shoe. This is my second pair.
