Bright light.
Better than the standard propane lanterns.

Can't really see the difference between the lumens of the north star and this lantern, even though this one is supposed to be higher lumen.
Use the more expensive 95 tube mantle.
Note to light mantle.
Tie mantle. Cut off extra string, so string doesn't have a chance of poking a hole in the mantle.
Fluff the mantle so it is sitting symmetrical if possible.
Light the mantle. I use a lighter to burn ALL of the parts of the mantle. DO NOT DO in the wind. Need to be out of strong wind.
Let cool and shrink for at least 5 min prefer 10 min. (maybe this is excessive, but I seem to have better luck creating a stable ash)
Then light using the lowest pressure you can get to get the mantle to light. I mean barely glowing. (you may have to take off or keep the globe off to do this.
Turn up a little to get near white. Let burn for 15-30 sec to finish burning in the mantle, and then turn off.
Let cool for 5-10 min.
Then you should be able to light without blowing out the mantle.
