Product Description

Frank Grillo stars in this gritty family series as former pro fighter Alvey Kulina, who, along with his girlfriend Lisa (Kiele Sanchez), runs a Mixed Martial Arts gym in Venice, California. Tensions mount with Alvey’s addict ex-wife Christina (Joanna Going) in the mix and when Lisa’s ex-fiancé Ryan (Matt Lauria) returns from prison to resurrect his fighting career – with Alvey as his trainer. And although Alvey and Christina’s sons Jay (Jonathan Tucker) and Nate (Nick Jonas) show promise as fighters, each contends with demons and secrets of his own. With its hard-hitting action and great storyline, Kingdom is rock-solid entertainment!

Kingdom is highly addictive.
That was exciting and heartwarming. It amazingly blends professional sport and family drama. Each characters has own idiosyncrasy. They are not perfect persons. That's why they give a huge impression to you. They are distressed, sometimes make huge mistake. That's why I'm moved by their human touch. It includes the mind and way of life in tactics and techniques, at the same time, for fighters during battle. If you are not interest in MMA,you'll definitely become like it after you watched.I sincerely hope it will be available in Japan.

I probably wouldn't have made a special effort to view it, if it weren't for an interest in the career of Nick Jonas. He was a pleasant surprise in his role as a mixed martial arts fighter leading a bit of a sexual double life. As an actor he's got a bit to learn, but he's careful and credible and I'm sure has found another career line for himself.

The other actors were far more experienced, of course, and they gave very convincing performances in their roles in the gritty world of MMA cage fighting careers and the difficulties they and their spouses or partners experience. The script provides enough surprises and retains enough suspense to keep an audience for the whole season. It makes an exceptional effort to retain a feeling of authenticity and that, too, makes it gratifying watching. The dialogue is very well done.

It's good to have the whole season for those nights when everything else seems the same-old same-old. It bears a second watch. I can happily recommend it to anyone who'd like to get acquainted with MMA life and enjoy an engrossing dramatic series. It's being continued this season--and with very good reason, too.

This has quickly become one of my favorite shows. I originally bought it looking for Nick Jonas eye candy. Actually, there is surprisingly less of than than I thought. He is one of the main characters, but the story line doesn't revolve around him. It gives equal time to all of the characters. It plays on the drama of running the gym and old washed up fighters making a new career for themselves. This is not a show that focuses on the gay aspect of Nate. It is mentioned very little actually. It is more about the bond of family and friends. If you are a UFC/MMA fan, and like the idea of a gay character being developed come season 2 then you'll love this show.

This season is very edgy/raw. Enjoyed it, though not tightly written. Lots of loose ends, but still enjoyable. Second season turns into a bit of a soap opera. Slows down quite a bit. Not sure if the writers know how to circle back an integrate where they are going or if they just don't know where they are going? So just be warned that if you start in on this season, don't expect the 2nd season to be on the same level.

Don't read what others are saying about this work of art...just BUY it!

I'm only through the first three episodes and ready to BUY season 2 as soon as it's available.

No matter if you are gay, straight, or whatever, this is excellent story line, character development, plot, and acting, are all rolled into one solid production.

However, if you are a gay man like me you too will be "piqued" by the grit, TESTOSTERONE, beauty of the male body, and "balls!"
Enjoy the ride...you won't be teased or taunted, but solely entertained again and again.

I paid for my copy and was not and has NEVER been offered a gift copy to review anything.

I am really surprised to like this series. I do not watch MMA as I find it a bit too brutal. Yet I was drawn into this because the acting and story line are great. The personal struggles of the characters are universal and their motivations palpable. I particularly like Jonathon Tucker as Jay. A very emotional performance with real heart. I hope they do justice to the character Nate in Season 2. Its about time there were a realistic gay character living in the straight world portrayed on film.

The package came early. Perfect condition. The show is more about the family and the gym rather than the mma fighting. The characters are less about gender roles and more about how situations effect people in general. The fist three episodes tell about the characters and then disc two and three delve into the action. I will look for the next two seasons when they are released.

My husband had been looking for this everywhere with no luck, then I came across it on Amazon.com. Cost an arm and leg to get here from the US but the look on his face when he got it was priceless. Seems like a great item so far, don't know why someone else complained about it not being HD as the picture quality seems superb. Very very please with this purchase and would recommend it and the service.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing.

Makes me crave for a true adaption of the Three Kingdom era in Anime. While this is set in the first Warring-States period of China there is some great story telling and characters to be had. The animation can be a little clunky at times as this uses a similar animation that would later be used in Berserk 2016 and Fist of the Blue Sky.
A good series that sadly is hard to track down the second collection. And as this has never been released in Australia you will be paying overs so it may be a risk, however I took that risk and wasn't disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The show I never got to watch

I saw a few episodes on Bravo and I found it interesting. Not just because my bae Nick Jonas was in it but because I generally liked the storyline.
I never got to watch the entire season and when season 2 started I resisted watching because I didn't to feel lost, so it was nice to find it here on Amazon so that I can catch up.
